2nd Turkmenistan International Oil and Gas Congress

Turkmenistan Oil and Gas Industry:

- Turkmenistan: the 4th largest country in the world after Russia, Iran and Qatar with respect to gas resources;

- Gas resources - 15 – 20 trillion m3, oil resources – 1.5 – 2.0 billion tons;

- Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TKNPZ) holds a leading position on production in Central Asian Region;

- Southern Iolotan-Osman group of fields and the Yashlar oil fileld were discovered. According to the data of Gaffney, Cline&Associates these oil fields hold the 4th place in the world with respect to gas resources and contain 4 to 14 trillion m3. Oil reserves are as high as 300 million tons;

- Energy resources export is fulfilled using different means of transport, the most important of which is the gas pipeline “Central Asia – Center”;

- Avaza National Tourism Area is environmentally safe health resort area situated on the Caspian Sea coast; it is a major industrial center which includes oil refinery, gas condensate plant and sulfur manufacturing plant;

- The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov approves of the aspiration of oil and gas companies of Russia and other countries to establish large-scale cooperation. In his official statement he declared: “Turkmenistan is always open for effective cooperation based on mutually beneficial relations both with its current and potential partners”.
